The weetbix triathlon!!!

The Big Day
When I heard mum knocking on my bedroom door I rushed out of my bed like a stampede of buffaloes and whipped on my clothes as fast as the wind. Next I wolfed down my brekkie like a messy pig and then we were off! As we were speeding down the motorway I moaned "are we there yet" But mum continued replying "no" over and over again until we finally arrived at Pioneer Stadium and met the other Clarkville kids near the coffee truck.

We were waiting for what seemed like years but finally the man with the loud speaker said "All the red swim cap people go over to the pool and the team runners and bikers go to the transition areas". As soon as I heard his deep voice I stumbled through the people until I spotted a sign that read "team runner waiting point". When I got there the weetbix helper talked to me and the other kids and said that we were going to have to sit around lazily doing nothing but waiting for the next 40 minutes. That was really annoying for me because I was already to go at that time!

I sat there for for what seemed like a millennium but in the end Mitch came like a bullet down from the bike area to tag me and I was gone! I slowed down a little because I needed to keep the pace so I did not have to stop in the middle of the race! My heart was thumping like a set of bongos as my breathing stared to dry out my neck like it was in a drought in the Sahara desert on a hot day! I looked in front of me and saw that Jess Roche was right in front of me so I picked up some speed and zoomed past her like a tornado. Now I was on the home straight, and my family and friends were cheering for me as loud as thunder!!! I was so close now 30 metres to go,20,10 I've done it. I wanted to flop to the ground but I continued on to get my medal so I could say I had a go at it! I ran off to see my mum who was really proud of me so she got me a hot chocolate from the coffee truck!

After that I asked mum where Mitchell and Lachlan had gone but she said that she did not know so I wandered around until I finally found them over by the bouncy rugby challenge area. So Mitchell,Lachlan and I got some photos at the Sunday star times area and millions of tattoos at the Toyota tent! Finally I went back to the Clarkville school area ready for the prize-giving. But mum explained that some of the people had not finished their races yet so we would have to wait for a bit longer so I rushed over to Mike and Mitch who were going to watch the rest of the Clarkville school kids finish their race. When I saw someone from our school I raced some of their race with them. Next we had prize-giving and then I went home feeling awesome that we achieved the race!!!
